A place to write about Crystal
Every post on this site right now was written by us, announcing our own sites. That is the least interesting version of CrystalBits, and it is the version that exists on day one.
Here is the one we want.
You have been running Crystal in production for two years and you have learned something about its garbage collector that is not in any doc. You wrote a shard last month and nobody knows it exists. You tried to do something reasonable, it cost you four hours and a compiler error nobody has ever posted about, and you worked it out. Any of those is a post, and any of them is worth more to the next person than another launch announcement from us.
This community already writes. It writes in a forum thread, on a personal blog nobody finds twice, in a Reddit comment that is genuinely good and gone in a week. None of that is wrong. It just does not accumulate anywhere, and a language this size cannot afford to keep losing the things people work out.
So: tips, war stories, benchmarks you actually ran, a shard you shipped, a thing that bit you. Announcements too, if you have one.
If you only want to read, subscribe with an email address. That is the whole signup, one field, and we send one message to check the address is really yours.
